Incredibly gorgeous and completely unique: one hand-engraved feather in solid silver, hanging upon a handmade sterling silver chain.
Let me share what went into building this chain. This necklace was created by my incredibly talented neighbor, Fred, a silversmith working in traditional Navajo technique. No pre-fab components, this piece was built entirely by Fred from raw ingots of silver. Each sterling lump was rolled into a graceful strand in an antique hand-crank press (like making pasta by hand, but with metal!). That strand was then cut, hammered, bent, and soldered to create each and every link. The links are soldered together as they are made, culminating in a stunning, shimmering chain unlike anything worn by anyone, anywhere. It's a work of epic craftsmanship using nothing but anvil, press, hammer, imagination, and fire.
The large silver feather is also formed completely by hand. Incredibly realistic, detailed with subtle contours and delicate engraving. Even the back is engraved!
All together, this necklace is a true work of art to wear and share - for all who see this, whether it's at work or in the grocery store, will gasp in delight.
Absolutely one of a kind.
Feather measures 3 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. Necklace measures 24 inches long. Individual links measure 3/4 inch long and 1/4 inch wide. Hand-forged hook clasp makes the length slightly adjustable. A total of 35 grams of sterling and fine silvers.
